The recent news of the Paris attacks has been the most talked about news, since the last 2 days. Six locations in Paris had been attacked by three teams of terrorists, late Friday, including the Stade de France, concert hall, and at least two restaurants. So far, 129 people were killed and 352 were wounded in the attacks. The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the attacks and in response, France carried out air strikes on targets in the militant organization’s base in Raqqa, Syria.

We used our social media management software, myRosys, and analyzed the conversations that people had on social media, about the topic.

Social media monitoring around the Paris attacks gives the most prominent keywords with the help of words cloud analysis. The report clearly shows that attacks, Paris, Syria, terrorism etc. have been the most talked about words. Since the Islamic State of Iran and Syria (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attacks, therefore Syria is a prominent and one of the recurring words on social media.

sentiment analysis

The sentiment analysis shows the orientation of sentiments of the people talking about the topic. Most people were angered by the attacks, and therefore used negative comments in their posts.

The Network Noise analysis tells us the peak hours and day on which the social media activity about the Paris attacks has been the most. 14th November 2015 depicts maximum noise because it was the day the attacks took place.

Our social media tool also reports the top liked and top retweeted/ shared posts on the social media platforms like Twitter and Google+. It is clear from the screenshot above that the tweet of the France Pope Pontifex, is the most shared one.
