Analysis of people’s perception after Uttar Pradesh Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav suspended IAS Durga Shakti Nagpal
Suspended IAS officer, Durga Shakti Nagpal who is being hailed as an avatar of Goddess Durga all across social media, is facing grave charges of demolishing a religious structure. Durga, an alma mater of the prestigious IGIT College in Delhi, is believed to be an honest officer who stood up against the illegal sand mining mafia within her jurisdiction, Gautam Budh nagar. Quite clearly these mafia lords were frustrated with this honest IAS officer and if social media posts of her supporters are to be believed then this is the actual reason of her suspension.
Uttar Pradesh Chief minister, Akhilesh Yadav is facing the heat from thousands of Durga’s supporters after a chargesheet was issued against the suspended IAS officer, giving her 15 days to reply to the charges against her.

Here are the key findings of the people’s perception based on the sentiment analysis performed using myRosys:
• The public sentiment was very low and almost 40% of the posts made on this issue were negative. There was outrage in various parts of the country. Only 212 posts across all social media networks were positive and a big reason for that is the muslim community’s support for Akhilesh Yadav as they were hurt after a mosque was demolished on the IAS officer’s orders.

As can be seen from the analysis below, posts on GooglePlus were peaking on 3rd August while posts on Twitter have been on the rise post 3rd august as hashtag #Durga started appearing as a trend post 3rd August.
