EAT, SLEEP, SOCIALIZE, AND REPEAT!!
“Eat, sleep, socialize and repeat – the new mantra for social media. You breathe in and breathe out updates. The effect of social media is as viral as the effect of marijuana only that it is healthier. The social media gives you involved and makes you a brimming cup of life – you make the world know that you exist, that humans are not just flesh and bones, they are not just bound by education, job, marriage and retirement, that there is an identity of a person beyond what he is, beyond his designations and all the formal worldly titles he receives. Social media brings out the part of his life- his choices, his love for things, his interests, and his passion that brings the music of life into play.
It gives a person a platform that lets a man/woman fill and share emotions with family and friends, he/she gets to show his thoughts, ideas, likes, dislikes and to put it in short it lets a human share the beat, the craziness, the child within. Starting form football to cricket, movements to campaigns, countries to continents, technology to emotions, it is touched today by social media.
The social media is no longer an option but has been engraved much deeper as a reality in people’s lives. Such is the craze of this giant that from politicians to bureaucrats, celebrities to stars everyone is using social media.
Social media is no longer a personal tool for personal touch but has even moved to touch out the corporate lives of people. Companies use social media sites to understand a person’s mentality, his attitude and what not.
Social media has carved out a niche for itself and has become an inevitable reality of the day. You cannot stay away nor can you stay out of touch. This is one place you get to choose what you want to do with yourself, you get to choose how much or how little of yourself you want to give out to the world and mind you every piece counts. As the databases grow so do people know more and more about you the way you want them to. It would not be wrong for me to say that social media sites basically sell the concept of hope. The same kind of hope that cosmetics sell, the hope to make you look good. The same hope you get from social media and that kind of hope is that you would be able to meet someone special, talk to that someone you always wanted to but could not face them for whatsoever reason, resolve issues or reunite with old friends or write a kind word for someone to feel happy that day and that from anywhere for anyone. Doesn’t that just sound great!
Under such a socialized world of media involved, you better fall in line and keep yourself updated to build your own world, a world where you stay connected. It is as good as saying you be a part and socialize or loose yourself and perish.
